Back to Church Sunday September 20, 2015

Who Will You Invite to Church?
Think of a name. Any name. A friend, a relative, or a co-worker. When was the last time that person visited a church? Maybe they haven't been to church in a long time. Maybe they've never gone to church.

Have you ever thought about asking that person to come with you to church? Here's your chance. Middle River Assembly of God is planning a special Back to Church Sunday service on September 20 that's dedicated to welcoming friends and family to worship with us.

By participating in this special event, we'll join thousands of other churches across America to invite guests to hear about God's love. Last year, over 26,100 churches participated and together gave out more than 7.5 million invitations to church! It's exciting to be part of such a huge outreach.

So have you thought of someone you can invite? Don't worry about feeling nervous. We all do. But remember that God has placed that person in your life for a reason; He can give you the courage and the opportunity to ask.

It’s not as hard as it may seem. Did you know that most people who have dropped out of church haven’t lost their faith in God—they simply fell out of the habit of going to church? Some moved, had a change in life circumstances, or had a falling out with their former church and simply drifted away. Most often, life just became too busy. This means many of them are open to returning to church.

Will you commit to praying for our church as we prepare for Back to Church Sunday? And will you pray for that person God has placed on your heart? Let's see what He can do!
Here's the information you need to know: Our Back to Church Sunday event is Sunday, September 20. Middle River Assembly of God meets at 11:00 every Sunday. We’ll also have a special program in the children’s ministry, and will have many ways for visitors and members alike to connect with each other that Sunday as we gather for a church picnic after the service.

I'm praying with you as we prepare for this special day that will introduce many people to our Savior. Hope to see you and all those you invite next week.

Back from General Council

Just got back from General Council in Orlando, Florida. Wow, what a great time. The LORD is moving on our fellowship. If you missed it, you missed some great ministry. From the devotions at the business sessions to the youth-in-ministry at Fine Arts, God was present. Check out the Downloads at www.AG.Org

The Election is OVER, But the work still goes on!

As I look at the events of the past week, I can truly say that I am proud to be an American. Even though the results of the election are not what I was hoping for, I know that I will be able to go and vote in the next election. (By God's grace.)

With that said, the work of the church has never changed. Whether we live in a free society or one that is oppressive, we are called to preach the world changing message of the Gospel. This is the only thing that will change peoples hearts. The government can't do it even with the "right" people in office. Paul said that he was "not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation." Today, make a stand. No matter what happens during the Obama presidency, never be ashamed of the Gospel message. Don't get side-tracked. Don't get caught up in debate.Trust in God.

CHURCH, TIME TO GO TO WORK!!!

p.s. Check out the response to the election by the General Superintendent of our great fellowship, Dr Wood. What he has to say is a word from the Lord.

Not too good at this Blogging.

Well its August all ready and this is just my second post. I'm not to good at this blogging thing.

Just an update on what is going on in my life (like you really care).

My oldest son has graduated high school and is going to CCBC this year. He has received 9 credit hours already from IB classes he took in High School. I am very proud of him. He plays the trumpet and has chops like Phil Driscoll.

My middle son is playing in the marching band at school. He is playing the Bass Drum this year. Which is cool because his primary instrument is the violin.

My youngest is starting 8Th grade. He is a card manipulator extraordinaire. He does some of the coolest things with cards and is doing great with his magic.

Currently I am preaching a series on the book of Revelation. Just now on the last part of Chapter 2. As I go through this series, I am hit more now than ever that we are living in the last days. We as the church need to decide that Jesus is Supreme and that we, as the Church have a lot of work still to do.

Let me know what you think. Email me. AGpastorsblog@Gmail.com

New to blogging

I don't know what I am doing, but just wanted to start sharing my thoughts and start seeing what God will do through this. Sometimes God wants us to get to the place where we realize that we don't know what we are doing and really depend upon Him.

To start. I prayed to God this year to give me something new to do. Something that I have never done and can only do by His Spirit. I believe that this blog is part of that. So stay tuned as I let God use this as a tool for Him.

God Bless
